English Language Challenges

Learning English in the university has served me well, in addition to this course of English 4, I took one called Intervention in public space, where I have been able to practice a lot with subjects that are of my interest such as architecture and art linked to public space. One of the professors who teach the course is Australian, which makes the class much more interesting talking about his experience as an artist. At the beginning it was difficult to understand his English, but over time I was learning to listen and understand the things he spoke.

With regard to English class 4, this seems very entertaining and useful, since in it you can practice writing through blogs putting into practice the vocabulary, grammar and writing in English of interesting topics such as architecture, our future jobs , our plans, trips, among others. But everything is improvable, and in that sense I think it would be great to improve two things: the schedule, since I consider having 2 blocks of English on a Friday is too exhausting and that is expressed in the energy that students put in classes; and the second, generate instances of debate where all are forced to participate and practice their English. I think there is still a lot to do to practice and learn.

This year I was motivated to raise my level of English and I think I've been doing it for a while. I started by putting the series or movies that I like in English and with subtitles concentrating on what I am listening to; looking for lyrics of my favorite songs in English and memorizing them after having understood, although I must assume that there are some that are quite complicated by the speed at which they are sung. I wonder how funny I will look for a native, trying to pronounce the lyrics of the songs. LOL
